Garnizon Kultury Gdańsk

Since 2015, Garnizon Kultury has been one of the most popular meeting places in Gdańsk Wrzeszcz. Apart from cultural facilities in renovated buildings, it also includes aesthetic public space perfect for walking, meeting people and spending time together in the open air.

Garnizon Kultury is developing in historical buildings which used to serve as barracks for cavalry, on ul. Słowackiego in Gdańsk. The regeneration project has been being carried out since 2013 and the goal is to create a space for culture, art, entertainment, sport and leisure. Cultural events take place mainly in Stary Maneż, a popular music club, and in Sztuka Wyboru, an original concept which combines a café, a bookshop, an art gallery and a shop with items by Polish designers. In the renovated buildings, there is also an art school, a dance studio, a tailor shop and accommodation for creative young people who are studying or starting their careers in Gdańsk. Gdański Bazar Natury is also part of Garnizon Kultury – a market with healthy food which attracts enthusiasts of a healthy lifestyle. There are also facilities for spending your free time – a badminton club, a bouldering centre and a rope play area.

Ultimately, Garnizon Kultury will include 7 historical buildings with a total area of over 12,500 square metres, a 2.5-hectare park with old-growth trees and wetlands near the Strzyża river.
